2010 Korea District Camp-o-ree, April 23-25

Troop 88 attended the Camp-o-ree with seven scouts and five adults.  The troop formed a consolidated patrol from members of the Beaver, Night Bane, Duct Tape, and Flamming Arrow Patrols.  The members of the troop finished first in the Fire Building, First Aid, and Red Plate (Dessert).  The troops scoutmaster chili took the golden ladle for second place and the troop finished third in the Tripod Building event.   The troop's overall performance earned it the golden spike for finishing second overall.

K-16 Air Base Scout Night April 20, 2010

Twenty scouts from Troop 88 visted K-16 Air Base to particpate in the Scout Night hosted by the 2nd Battlion (Air Assault), 2nd Aviation Regiment, Wild Cards.  The scouts were able to fly in the UH-60 Blackhawk Flight Simulator and see how the night vision equipment used by the pilots operates,  They learned about weather, how a helicopter operates, and even prepared their own flight plan.  They were allowed to get up close to a real Blackhawk helicopter and see some of the armorment it is normally equiped with.
